Strategic workshops: from discussion to collaboration

In 2026, Cyberwal in Galaxia Academy is taking a more hands-on approach. Alongside the scientific programme, a series of full-day strategic workshops will bring together small, carefully selected groups of participants from academia, industry and the public sector.

The objective is to go beyond networking and turn common challenges, expertise and ideas into the first building blocks of concrete collaborations that can continue long after Cyberwal ends.

Each workshop will build on one of the key topics discussed during the Academy and give participants the opportunity to explore it in greater depth, challenge perspectives and work together on possible next steps.

Depending on the group and the topic, this could lead to:

• joint research initiatives between universities and R&D centres;
• collaborative technology developments between startups, companies and research organisations;
• pilot projects involving public authorities and infrastructure operators;
• new partnerships designed to continue well beyond the event itself.

How does it work?

The workshops run for the full day and take place at the same time as the main scientific programme. Each workshop takes place the day after the related scientific session:

Tuesday 8 December: workshop based on Monday’s theme

Wednesday 9 December: workshop based on Tuesday’s theme

Thursday 10 December: workshop based on Wednesday’s theme

How to apply

When registering for Cyberwal in Galaxia Academy, select the workshop option to express your interest in taking part.

There is no charge at the application stage. As seats are limited, participants will be selected based on their profile and the relevance of their expertise to the workshop topic. The selection process will be completed by the end of October, and all applicants will be informed by email.

Participation fee

Selected participants will be charged the same rate as a full Auditorium day:

Standard rate: €50 if registered before 23 October, €60 after 23 October

Student rate: €25 if registered before 23 October, €35 after 23 October

If you have already paid for an Auditorium ticket for the same day, you will not be charged twice.

Important

Participation in a workshop cannot be combined with attendance in the Auditorium programme taking place on the same day. For the Thursday workshop, participation is also incompatible with the demonstration sessions scheduled that day.

Inception is an immersive crisis simulation experience that places participants at the heart of a major cyber incident, with no fully predictable scenario.

Faced with technical, human, media, legal, and operational developments, participants must assess the situation, make decisions, and coordinate their response under pressure.

The experience replicates the dynamics of a real-life crisis through interactions, phone calls, documents, simulated systems, and events that evolve according to the decisions made.

Its objective is to turn theoretical crisis management into a hands-on experience, enabling participants to learn how to understand, decide, communicate, and act before reality catches up with them.

The Cyber Team of the Belgian Air Force’s 11th Squadron Air Defence presents Mission Echo 7: a live, interactive cyber range demonstration built around a simulated surveillance mission to protect critical infrastructure.

With an unmanned aerial system in the air and the mission already underway, you’ll be drawn into the investigation when something suddenly stops adding up.
